Friday, November 27th Central Market will be open from 5pm-8pm during the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony in Penn Square

The Central Market Trust has contracted out a plan to install large industrial fans at Market, to finally “beat the heat” during those oppressive summer months. Estimates show that these fans could lower indoor temperatures by as much at 10 degrees on a hot day, and crucially would create a pleasant breeze all throughout Market. This promises to dramatically improve conditions inside Market for our guests, for our market standholders, and their goods and equipment, as well as helping to safeguard our historic building from extreme temperatures.
